In the days of yore
Gather around children, for I shall tell you of a time long ago.
Where you could smoke in public, and if you wanted to get your money from the bank, you had to actually walk into the bank and write a withdrawal slip.
We had wondrous communication devices called phone booths.
Our data was not compressed, for we had no data. Nary a computer to be seen anywhere.
Not everyone got a trophy for participating. You actually had to achieve something.
And do you know how we managed to survive those primitive times? We actually talked to each other. Often. Actual in person conversations.
A time when if you wanted to call a person an asshole, you needed the stones because you would be saying to their face. While you looked them in the eye.
There were periods of time when you were traveling and unable to communicate with anyone. Text meant actual words on a printed page.
We were actually smarter back then as a whole. Living in society actually required a certain set of skills such as the ability to communicate.
Communication is actually speaking to a person, texting someone is not communicating.
In days of yore we had the art of conversation. And it was good.
