‘Journalist of the Year’ and ESPN Writer: People Killed by Fast and Furious Just ‘Collateral Damage’…
LZ Granderson, who writes a weekly column for CNN.com, was named journalist of the year by the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association and is a 2011 Online Journalism Award finalist for commentary, thinks the American people should just butt-out of sticky little things like Fast and Furious.
Via The Blaze:
The American people need to stop being so darn “nosy” and demanding to know why our federal government recklessly armed murderous drug cartels with thousands of guns and then let them walk across the U.S.-Mexico border — at least according to CNN contributor and “Journalist of the Year”* LZ Granderson. He is also a senior writer and columnist at ESPN.
In an Op-ed posted on CNN.com on Tuesday, Granderson argues “times have changed” and “not everything is our business,” so we need to just butt out already. And as for those killed because of the operation? “Collateral damage.”
Good to see that liberal reporters view the men and women who risk their lives along a violent border to protect us are potentially just ‘collateral damage’. I mean, it’s not like they’re real people or anything with families and loved ones…they’re “The Man” and, according to the Left, deserve what they get.
Yes, we should all just sit by meekly, let Obama and Holder do whatever they choose no matter who dies in the process or how many laws they break and, if a few US citizens are murdered,…oh well.
But the truly disturbing part comes at the end of his article when he says:
And maybe it’s better for us not to be so nosy, not to know everything because, to paraphrase the famous line from the movie “A Few Good Men,” many of us won’t be able to handle the truth.
So, according to LZ, the government should be able to keep secrets, ignore the Constitution and rule of law, disregard Congress and get away with being accomplices in murder because some people won’t be able to handle the truth. Yes, let’s let the lambs be led to slaughter and it’s okay as long as the sheep aren’t told that they’re being led to their deaths…cause that may disturb them or hurt their little feelings.
I guess, according to LZ’s logic, as long as we aren’t told we’re being ruled by a tyrannical government, we can all sleep peacefully and that’s just dandy.
Well, LZ, maybe for you but some of us disagree.
