A federal department ruled last week that the Forest Service violated a Spanish-speaking woman’s civil rights by calling the Border Patrol to help translate during a routine stop, saying it was “humiliating” to Hispanics and an illicit backdoor way to capture more illegal immigrants.

Right. Because we all know how evil it is to want someone who speaks Spanish to ask questions on law enforcements behalf because that person didn’t have the common sense to learn the language of the country they moved to.

You know what. If you don’t bother to learn the basics of your host country-then too damn bad if you feel ‘humiliated’ because the police want someone there to translate so they can understand what you’re saying.  Don’t want a Border Patrol interpreter coming along?  Learn the dang language!!!

Heck! I spent two years in Japan and the first thing I did was begin learning the language so I could somewhat communicate while I was there.  Lazy ass whiners.
