Rory Reid, son of idiot Harry Reid, in reference to the Bundy cattle standoff.
Interesting. So all laws should be enforced? Just can’t ignore the ones you don’t like?
Better tell Barack Obama that. Since taking office, Obama ignored DOMA laws, watered down and told ICE agents to ignore immigration laws, has ordered the federal government to not deport illegal aliens under age 30 who came to the United States as children and, since his own craptastic law of ObamaCare has passed, he’s ignored or altered the laws that are required for that and, during the stinky Occupy fad a couple years ago, the Obama administration ordered law enforcement not to arrest Occupy protesters who were breaking the law.
In fact, Obama is so outrageous when it comes to ignoring laws that the House passed legislation requiring the executive branch to notify Congress whenever it decides against enforcing federal law.
In an article titled: Obama’s Policy Strategy: Ignore Laws, the White House responded to a question, in regard to Obama’s habit of ignoring laws, by saying:
"We work to achieve our policy goals in the most effective and appropriate way possible. Sometimes this makes for less-than-ideal policy situations — such as the action we took on immigration — but the president isn’t going to be stonewalled by politics, he will pursue whatever means available to do business on behalf of American people.”
In short, this means that the President will simply choose to ignore laws as long as he thinks it can benefit him or his base.
And then there’s the United States number one law enforcement officer, the man for ensuring (like the President) that the laws of the country are enforced: Eric Holder.
What was it he said about enforcing laws?
“There is a vast amount of discretion that a president has — and, more specifically, that an attorney general has [in enforcing laws]”.
So, so far, according to the President and his Attorney General, laws can be ignored and chosen not to be enforced if they don’t like them. In fact, Obama threatened to veto a bill
that would have required them to do their jobs and actually enforce laws.
Then there is the always present shadow of Fast and Furious where numerous laws were broken, a Border Patrol Agent was killed, hundreds of Mexican citizens were murdered….and no one was arrested or charged.
So, apparently, Rory, people in your dad’s party do think that people can ignore laws they don’t like and, apparently, the only people who are subject to laws are the ones rotten, corrupt and decaying people, like your father, don’t like.
